Security Engineer
About the assignment
A leading organisation seeks a Security Engineer to strengthen its security posture. You'll work on a diverse infrastructure spanning on-premise and cloud environments, implementing controls that prevent breaches before they happen.
Your focus: identify security gaps, recommend solutions, and ensure defenses stay ahead of threats. You'll collaborate with infrastructure, development, and operations teams to embed security into daily workflows.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on infrastructure and applications
- Design and implement security controls aligned with industry frameworks (ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks)
- Monitor security alerts, investigate findings, and coordinate remediation efforts
- Maintain and update security scanning tools, keeping vulnerability databases current
- Document security architectures, procedures, and control implementations
- Advise teams on secure configuration and risk mitigation strategies
- Participate in incident response when critical vulnerabilities are discovered

Must-haves
- 3+ years in security engineering, vulnerability management, or related field
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing tools
- Strong knowledge of network and application security fundamentals
- Proven ability to document findings and communicate with non-technical stakeholders
- Understanding of secure coding principles and infrastructure hardening
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with cloud security assessments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms or security orchestration tools
- Background in CI/CD pipeline security or DevSecOps practices
