About the assignment
A leading organisation seeks a Security Officer to strengthen its security posture. You monitor compliance with security policies, investigate incidents, and ensure controls are effective. Your work prevents breaches and supports business continuity through structured security governance.
You operate at the intersection of technical security and organisational policy. You'll work with multiple departments to embed security practices, conduct audits, and report on risk status to leadership.
Your responsibilities
- Monitor security incidents and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
- Enforce security policies and verify compliance across systems and teams
- Audit access controls and review user permissions for alignment with roles
- Coordinate security awareness training and measure effectiveness
- Maintain security documentation, evidence logs, and audit trails
- Respond to security alerts and escalate threats to appropriate teams
- Report on security metrics and risk status to senior management
- Support vulnerability remediation and patch management cycles

Must-haves
- 5+ years in security operations, GRC, or audit roles
- Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or equivalent frameworks
- Experience investigating security incidents and documenting findings
- Proficiency with security monitoring tools and SIEM platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-haves
- CISM or CISSP certification
- Experience with ServiceNow GRC or similar governance platforms
- Familiarity with NIS2, GDPR, or industry-specific regulations
- Background in IT audit or compliance management
