About the assignment
A major organisation is strengthening its identity and access management capabilities. You'll own the design, implementation, and optimisation of RBAC models that balance security controls with user productivity.
Your work directly impacts how thousands of employees and contractors access critical systems. You'll translate business requirements into technical access policies, audit existing permissions, and recommend improvements based on security best practices and compliance standards.
This role sits at the intersection of security architecture and operational governance—you'll partner with business units, security teams, and infrastructure to build scalable, maintainable access control frameworks.
Your responsibilities
- Design and document RBAC models aligned with business functions and security requirements
- Audit current access permissions across enterprise systems and identify over-privileged accounts
- Define role hierarchies, responsibilities, and approval workflows for access requests
- Validate RBAC implementations against ISO 27001, NIS2, and industry compliance frameworks
- Collaborate with security architects to integrate RBAC with broader IAM strategies
- Monitor role usage, request trends, and access anomalies to optimise role definitions
- Develop and maintain RBAC documentation, playbooks, and training materials for stakeholders
